Brenda Joyce Hess Large, 68, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

Brenda was a member of Ramsey Freewill Baptist Church in Norton, VA.  She was a retired employee of Mountain Empire Community College Bookstore.

Brenda was the oldest of 10 children, daughter of the late Curtis and Ruby Hess. She is also preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Trinity Faith Large, and an infant brother, Henry; grandparents Andrew and Rebecca Harding, and Silas and Fannie Hess.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Crystal Large of Wise, VA; two grandchildren, Emma and Isaiah Large; brothers: Joe (Trish) Hess, Bob Hess, Silas (Mona) Hess, Curt (Diane) Hess, John (Tina) Hess, and Clay (Kincey) Hess; sisters: Mary Adkins, and Karen (Roy) Hubbard; nieces and nephews: Robert Hess, Amanda Hess, Aaron (Sonya) Hess, Jacob Hess, Andrea Hubbard, Andrew Hess, Brittany (Travis) Dennis, Cheyenne Wilson, Eddie Hess, Henry Hess, Hannah Hess, and Morgan Hess.  Several other great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Funeral services for Brenda will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Ronnie Large officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M.
