Winona Evelyn Perry McFadden, 89, passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Winona was born in Wise, VA to the late Bill Perry and Gracie Breedlove Laney. She was a devout wife, loving mother and best friend. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. Her final message, "Be happy, I am in the arms of Jesus." Psalms 91:1-4 'Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.'

In addition to her parents, Winona was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, William Jennings McFadden; and siblings, Randolph Perry, Chester Perry, Burton Perry, Emma Jean Maggard, Reba Cofeane Garrett, Roselynn Bentley, and Janice Sue Laney.

Left to cherish her memories are her brother, Jimmy Perry; son, Keith McFadden and wife Christy; daughters, Lenora Meade, Teresa Thacker, Debra Beane, and Bertha Eveyon Smith-Williams and husband Phillip; bonus sons, Robert Powers and Shelton Kent Smith; nine grandchildren, Joseph Powers, Matthew McFadden, Debra Beane, Courtney Baker, Travis Lane, Devin Smith, Nathan Beane, Nathaniel Beane, and Sierra Thacker; five great-grandchildren, Jayden Powers, Layla McFadden, Avery Baker, Harlow Baker, and Kira Beane; best friend, Lenora Crabtree; nephews, Randy Owens, Danny Owens, Micheal McFadden; niece, Tina Shortridge; a host of extended family, several nieces, nephews, and friends; and fur babies, Tessa, Biskit and Buttons.

Graveside committal services and burial for Winona McFadden will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 5, 2025 in the McFadden Family Cemetery in Wise, VA with Pastor Jason Green officiating. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for services.
