William H. Cox, Jr., 75, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA.

He attended Esserville Community Church, was a former employee of Knox and Sons Oil Co., drove a coal truck for Leon Mullins, David Large, Tommy Large, Rodney Large and Danny Large, had a CB handle as Welfare and Willie, and he Loved to go fishing, watch Nascar racing and football.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Anna Cox; grandson, Tyler Yates; parents, William H. Sr. and Gladys Cox; and sisters, Mary Cox, Nancy Taylor, Anita Jones and Edith Phillips.

Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Roxie Cox; son, Benjamin Cox; grandchildren, Laken Yates and Jacob Vaughn; great-granddaughter, Scylla Burton; brothers, Thurman Cox and wife Steva and John Cox and wife Tammie; sisters, Teresa Salyers and husband Scott, Margaret Powers and Carolyn Underwood; and a host of other relatives and friends.
