Willard Eugene Buchanan, 80, went to his eternal home on February 18, 2022, at the Hospice House in Bristol, TN.

Willard was the son of the late Grover and Bernice Odle Buchanan; in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Buchanan, and one sister, Ruth Nestor.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Mutter Buchanan; his son, Richard Buchanan, and his daughter, Becky Hensley; his special son-in-law, Coy Hensley, and his two beloved grandchildren, Macee Hensley, and Abigail Buchanan. Other survivors include two sisters, Joyce King, and Shirley Blevins, and her husband, Jody; two brothers, Hershel Buchanan, and a dear special brother, Donald Buchanan, and his wife, Eve; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to our church family at Crab Orchard Baptist Church, the Staff at Norton Community Hospital, Whitney Brooke Mays, Ballad Home Health Care, Dante Recuse Squad, and a wonderful staff at Hospice House for all their prayers, love, and support during Willard's illness.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 23, 2022, 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6 ^th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Service will follow at 2 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Matt Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Buchanan Family Cemetery in Crab Orchard section of Coeburn.
