Wilburn "Shorty" E. Dean, 74, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Dean; two daughters, Susie Pridemore, and Teresa Rose; granddaughter, Mandy Cox and great grandson, Joshua Meade, and his dog, Sheba.

He drove an oil truck for many years and retired from Little Acorn Oil Company. He loved eating breakfast at Hardee's and spending time with his family. His sense of humor and his huge heart will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving is daughters, Gail (Bobby) Meade of Norton, VA. Liz Addair of Wise, VA. Dolores Stapleton of Wise, VA. sons, Eugene Dean of Mississippi; Ricky (Roseann) Rose of Castlewood, VA. Orbie Rose of Coeburn, VA. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Carter, and Fannie Ramey; brothers, Glen Dean, Floyd Dean, Roy Green, Ronnie Green, and Teddy Green, and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, 2021, 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6 ^th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Services will be conducted 1 P.M. Thursday, September 30, 2021, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lester Sturgill officiating.
