Victor Wendell Ray, 60, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Norton Community Hospital.

Victor grew up in Bristol, TN. He later met his wife, Verlena and moved to Wise in 1994.

He loved riding motorcycles through the beautiful mountains of Virginia. He loved to play the drums and music with all of his friends. He was known as a kid at heart and loved to make others laugh, no matter what that took. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kemp Ray; step-father, Lawrence "Sonny" Lowe and brother in law, Roger Smith.

Surviving are his wife, Verlena Ray; mother, Jane Lowe of Bristol, TN; sister, Tracy Smith of Bristol, TN; mother in law, Edith Davis of Wise, VA; brothers-in-law, Jeff Davis and wife Marilyn, Rod Davis, and Marty Davis and wife Shelia; nieces, Jordan Bowers, Brooke Smith,

Carmen Penley and Kinsley Davis; nephews, Jeremy Davis, Jacob Davis, Ryan Davis, Ethan Davis and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service for Victor Ray will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the Mullins Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 P.M. on Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA to go to the cemetery in procession.
