Vickie Killen Rasnick, age 60, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center, after battling a long illness.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Rasnick; father, Bill Killen, as well as her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred Ann Hill (Don) of Wise, VA; two sons Michael Wallace (Laken) and Douglas Wallace (Kayla) both of Haysi, VA; three step daughters, Victoria Rasnick of Denver, CO, Taylor Rasnick of Stafford, VA, and Alexis Rasnick of St Paul, VA; a step son, Edward Lawrence of Wise, VA, a brother, Don Hill Jr (Amber) of Pound, VA, and a sister Jenny Petko (David) of Knoxville, TN; several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Vickie took pride in being a grandmother and was a very loving one to Gabriella Colley, Seth Wallace, Kadence Wallace, Isaiah Blankenship, Peyton Wallace, Brooklyn Wallace and Raylan Wallace, all of Haysi, VA.

Vickie had such a great heart and a deep love and compassion for animals. Her two dogs Gizmo and Pepper meant so much to her.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life service for Vickie on Sunday March 6, 2022, at 4pm, at Pound River Church, which is located at 6601 The Lake Road, Clintwood, VA. All family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate Vickie and the wonderful person that she was. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, since Vickie had such a love for animals, the family asks that you donate to a local animal shelter instead.
