NORTON, VA.                                    MARCH 3, 2022

Troy Verner Stallard, 96, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at his home on Guest River.

Troy proudly served his country and was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired coal miner from Westmoreland Coal Company. He was of primitive Baptist faith and a member of Little Stoney Gap Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Creed Francis and Edna Bolling Stallard; two sisters, Pauline Roberts and Doris Bolden; two brothers, Creed Elmo Stallard and Don Gene Stallard.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Cleo Niece Stallard; children, Larry (Teresa) Stallard, Teresa (Allen) Collins, Darrell Stallard, Jimmie (Crea) Stallard, Deborah (David) Boles; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Garnell Bateman, Rudell Bateman and Wanda Cressey.

Funeral services for Troy Stallard will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel Wise, VA with Elder Aaron Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the Sturgill Funeral Home Wise, VA.  Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 5, 2022 in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap, VA. Family and friends will meet at 10:10 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
