Terry Ray Thacker, 63, entered his eternal home on Monday, May 4, 2026.

Terry was a skilled carpenter for most of his life, a trade he practiced with dedication and pride. Through his craftsmanship, he left a lasting mark not only in the structures he built, but in the lives of those who knew and worked alongside him.

A man of deep faith, Terry found great joy in serving his church and expressing his love for the Lord through music. He especially cherished playing the drums, sharing his talent as part of worship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Freeda Thacker; his sister, Brenda Davis; and his brother, Bruce Thacker.

He is survived by his daughters, Britney Edmiston and her husband, Joshua Edmiston, and Sierra Thacker; one granddaughter, Abigail Edmiston; and his sisters, Diane Gilliam and Mary Margaret Price.

Terry's legacy of faith and hard work will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Funeral services for Terry Thacker will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Owen Powers, Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, Virginia. Burial will be private.
