Terry Alvin "Tinker" McCarthy, 61, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 at his home with his companion Vera Mullins by his side.

He was a retired coal truck driver of 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, being with the kids, bonfires and music.

He was preceded in death by his father, Garland McCarthy; his wife, Kathy McCarthy; brothers, Gary McCarthy, Jerry McCarthy and Barry McCarthy; sister, Lisa Florse and son-in-law, Billy Maggard.

Surviving are his mother, Lorene McCarthy; companion, Vera Mullins; brothers, Carey McCarthy and Larry (Teresa) McCarthy; sister, Lora McCarthy; children, Marie Maggard, LeeAnna (Bryan) Blevins, Haley McCarthy (Dalton) and Whitney McCarthy (Clinton); grandchildren, Blake (Michaella) Blevins, Nathan Blevins, Dominic Blevins, Ellie Sergent and Christopher Smith; nieces, nephews and friends; special friends, Travis Dutton and kids, Loretta Smith, Laydon Hall, Ronnie Smith and Amber Collins and Ken Collins (Bubby); special cousins, David Red Stanley and Carolyn Strouth and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers, Ashley Stanley, Travis Dutton, Shannon Strouth, Bobby Strouth, Joe Aaron McCarthy and Blake Blevins. Honorary pallbearers, Carey McCarthy, Nathan Blevins, and Dominic Blevins.

His children would like to thank his companion, Vera Mullins for all the love and care she gave him over the years.

Visitation for Tinker McCarthy will be held from 12:30 P.M. till 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside committal services will follow in the Stanley Family Cemetery in Pound, VA with Bryan Blevins officiating.
