Teresa Lynn Mullins Short, 65, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.

Teresa attended Beverly Hills Assembly of God in Wise, was retired from the Wise County Department of Social Services after 38 years of service and was an avid UT Vols fan.

Sis was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Violet Sloan Mullins and a brother Kenneth Mullins.

Surviving are her brother, Jerry Mullins and wife Brenda; sister, Renee Wells and husband Ric; nieces, Vicky Belcher, Michelle Cowden and husband Dusty, Mallory Hubbard and husband Jarrett and Kara Qualls and husband Justin; nephews, Jody Mullins and Matt Sanders and wife Sarah; great-nieces, Makayla Mullins, Payton Belcher, Julianna Mullins, Hillary Hubbard and caregiver, Abbigail Cowden; great-nephews, Alex Mullins, Adam Belcher, Faolan Sanders, Alistair Sanders, Preston Mullins and caregiver, Isaac Cowden; Uncles, Robert Lee Sloan Jr. and wife Judy and Benny Mullins and wife Anita; Aunts, Eloise "Pete" Porter and Ann Mullins; cousins that were more like brothers and sisters; special friends, Kevin Holbrook, Bobby Tiller, Travis Kennedy and Bill Heaberlin and many other friends who were dear to her. Special Thank You to Dr. James Campbell and Staff; April Wallace and Staff at Southwest Virginia Cancer Center, Dr. Grigg and Staff-Kingsport and Dr. Zachary Henry and Transplant team at UVA Charlottesville and the Drs and staff at NCH and Caris.

Funeral services for Teresa L. Short will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Jeff Sams and Pastor Greg Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith-Gilliam Cemetery Wise, VA. The Family will receive friends from 12 noon till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
