Teresa Huff Pritchard Pennell, 80, entered Heaven on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Teresa was the daughter of Ralph Huff and Venice Eggleston.

Teresa was a faithful member of Glady Fork Freewill Baptist Church.

She was a skilled cook and talented seamstress. She sold handcrafted items and homemade candy at festivals and craft shows within a 200-mile radius.

She was preceded in death by her parents and custodial grandparents, Nettie Huff and William Huff; husband, Jerry Pritchard; sister, Anna Ruth Tompkins; and husband, Donald Pennell.

She is survived by daughters, Vivian Banks (Jack) of Whitesburg KY, Gina Chisenhall (Terry) of Wise, and Laura Pritchard of Pound; grandchildren, Matthew Banks of Louisville KY, Aaron Banks (Meagan) of Pinetop KY, Autumn Chisenhall (Max) of New Orleans LA, Emily Banks of Lexington KY and Beau Chisenhall of Columbia SC; brothers, Lee Huff (Bonnie) of Pound, and William Dee Huff (Janis) of Manassas; sisters, JoAnn King of Wise and Alie VanHuss (R.C.) of Pound; sister-in-law, Judy Pritchard of Pound; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Teresa was happiest when she had a houseful of people to feed and care for. She was known to give refuge to anyone needing a hot meal, a warm bed, or just a kind word. On a particularly cold winter day, a neighbor dog returned from a visit to Teresa's house wearing a handmade doggie coat. Teresa excelled at taking care of others.

In keeping the tradition alive, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Wise County Food Bank, PO Box 2977 Wise, VA 24293.

Funeral services for Teresa Pennell will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Glady Fork Church, 10147 Glady Fork Rd, Pound, VA 24279 with Pastor Mark Stallard officiating. Burial will follow in the Dewey Memorial Cemetery in Pound, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the church.
