Romans 6:8-10 Death no longer has power over him. He died to sin once and for all with his death, but he lives for God with his life.

Teddy Wayne Hensley, 67, entered heaven on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

He was a retired employee of Jacobs and was a Tennessee Vols fan, a proud husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lucy Hensley; sisters, LouElla Hensley, Nancy Absher and Dorothy Bell and a brother, LeRoy Hensley.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Joanna Hensley; a daughter, Courtney Bowen (John Bentley); grandchildren, Dominik and Kyli Bowen; sisters, Wanda Mullins and Kathy Ireson (Greg); several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cook and the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center.

Funeral services for Teddy Hensley will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Jim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise. Graveside committal services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family and friends will meet at 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
