Shirley Jeanette Thompson West, 79, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 01, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center Kingsport, TN.

She was a lifelong resident of Wise. Shirley worked at the Wise Inn and Brass Lantern for a number of years. She was a long time member of Beverly Hills Tabernacle and in her later years she attended Spirit of Life Fellowship Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Felton George and Pearl Elizabeth Thompson; a brother, Tommy Thompson; sisters, Patty Hibbitts, Norma Adkins, Janice Taylor and Debbie Salyers; nephews, Nicholas Salyers and Tony Taylor.

Surviving are the love of her life and husband of over 61 years, Franklin D. West; three children, Jeff West, Mike West, and Chrissy West; seven grandchildren, Franklin West, Jade Barb, Cassanda Frye, Brandi Barb, Ashley Barb, Justin West, and Mazi West; nine great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Laura, and Mellina West, Jordan and Hunter Smith, Orrin Jack West, Kylie and Waylynn Frye, and Asher Griffith; sisters, Glenda Parks and Sharon Evans; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Shirley West will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel Wise, VA with Pastor Robin Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Beverly Cemetery, Wise, VA The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till time of services at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at the Sturgill Funeral Home Wise, VA.
