Sarah Elizabeth Gibson Collins, 73, entered enteral rest on January 25, 2024.  She was surrounded by her loving family after a lengthy illness.  She fought until the very end.

Sarah was the matriarch of her family and enjoyed being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She attended Banner Revival Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Gibson, and Bertie Perry Gibson, three brothers: Willard Gibson Jr., Vernoy Gibson, and Norman Gibson.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Leon Collins of Coeburn, VA; sons, Ronald (Elizabeth) Collins of Coeburn, VA, Norman Lee (Lisa) Collins of Grove City, OH;  one daughter, Bertie Lynn (Alan) Cleusman of Hinesville, GA; grandchildren, Nicolby (Daniel), Colton, Chris (Kim), Devan, Faith, Sara, Zachary, Hunter, Connor, Layla, Ava and Daniel (Whitney); great grandchildren, Addilynn, Emma, Rylee, Remington and Daxton; sisters, Lillie Mae Sexton, Mary Jean McCoy, Viola Jones, Kathy Collins; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Special thanks to nurses Jo Anna Hayes, Stephanie Richardson, and Bronson Dishner for their kindness, loving care and friendship given to all of us during our time of need. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 30, 2024, 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. R.L. Crawford officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted 1 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery Coeburn, Virginia. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 12 P.M. to go in procession to the cemetery.
