Sara Elizabeth Hall Young also known as Sara Ellen to many, 78, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in Concord, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Mae Holbrook Hall and father, Emory Banner Hall.

She was raised in Coeburn, Virginia. She was a dedicated health care worker for 25 years as a Registered Nurse. She loved to travel and visit many places and lived in many states throughout her lifetime. She has either visited or lived in 49/50 states over the years, she became a huge fan of sports which include Football and Nascar Racing. Every weekend we had to make sure the TV was on the correct channel to watch her favorite team or driver. She was also a chocoholic and loved to make brownies.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jerry Young; her favorite children, son, Virgel (Wendy) Young, daughter Niki (Kenny) Hamm; grandchildren, Bryan (Michelle) Young, Jamie (Patty) Young, Alyssa Young, Devan Young, Elizabeth Hamm, Trey Hamm, Rejeane Hamm, Labrisca Hamm, Jordan Daniels, Cheyenne Mitchell, and many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and abundance of close friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 3, 2022, 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6 ^th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Temple Hill Memorial Park Castlewood, VA.
