Ruth
Lovell
d. Sep 8, 2026
Berta Ruth Lovell, 70, of Norton, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on September 8, 2026, at Norton Community Hospital.
Ruth was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a mighty woman of faith and prayer. She lived with a genuine love for God and for everyone He placed in her path. She was of the Christian faith and attended Freedom of Worship Church, where she especially treasured the opportunity to love on and care for all the children.
Ruth retired after faithfully serving her community as a dispatcher with the Wise County Sheriff’s Office. Her work reflected the way she lived her life—always ready to help others.
Above everything else, Ruth loved her family. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were among her greatest joys, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies. Ruth loved everyone she met, embraced life with gratitude, and leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, prayer, and unconditional love.
The beach was Ruth’s favorite place to be. When she wasn’t enjoying the sand and ocean, she loved traveling to the Smoky Mountains.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Virgial and Dorcas Bradley; her mother-in-law, Betty Lovell; and her brother-in-law, Steve Lovell.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Eddie Lovell; her sons, Brian Lovell and wife Karla of Botetourt, Virginia, and Brad Lovell and wife Sarah Beth of Kingsport, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Elijah Lovell and wife Lauren, Kaylee Lovell, Audrey Lovell, Jake Singleton and wife Morgan, and Macayla Luttrell and husband Luke; her father-in-law, Glenn Lovell; her brother, Randy Bradley and wife Pam; her brother-in-law, David Lovell and wife Olga of Myrtle Beach, North Carolina; her nephews, Travis Bradley, Scott Bradley, Steven Bradley, and Logan Lovell; her niece, Larissa Lovell; Daughter-N-Laws Paige Mullins and Melody Dale, along with many other relatives, church family members, and friends who loved her dearly.
Although her family will deeply miss her presence, they find comfort in knowing that the faith she carried throughout her life has now become sight. Ruth fought the good fight, finished her race, and kept the faith. Her prayers, her love, and the countless lives she touched will remain part of her legacy for generations to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations be made to the Freedom Of Worship P.O. Box 386, Norton, VA 24273 or link http://fowcnorton.com children’s ministry to further their walk in Christ as she faithfully displayed to them
