Rueben Lucas Lucero, 49, of Wise, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 24th, at his home surrounded by his family. Rueben was born and raised in Tularosa, New Mexico, where he graduated from Tularosa High School. After graduation, Rueben served in the United States Army from 1993-1999, which included 3 years on foreign land. After serving, he moved to Southwest Virginia, where he proceeded to work for Verizon for 13 years. Rueben was a lover of all animals, which was a love that he would pass down to both his daughters, nieces, and nephews. He also enjoyed flea markets and antique stores, as he was an avid collector of Coca-Cola and antique tools.

Rueben is preceded in death by his father, Jay Lucero, his siblings, Ann Lucero, and Jay Lucero Jr. He is also preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal grandparents. As well as several aunts and uncles.

Rueben is survived by his mother Velma Lucero, his daughters Tristin Jayde Lucero (William Stansberry), Gianna Skye Lucero-Owens (Garrett Owens), and Jaydin Rayne Lucero. He is also survived by his canine companion, Lily, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles of Virginia and New Mexico.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. where a Memorial Service will be held at the McClure Pentecostal Church 125 Spurgeon Drive McClure, Virginia with pastor Greg Edwards officiating.
