Obituary

Roy Eugene Boatright, 75, of Norton, Virginia.

With deep sadness in all of our hearts, we said goodbye on Wednesday August 26, 2026 to a loving father and brother. God gained a special angel to fly high with our loved ones that have previously passed.

Roy grew up in Norton, Virginia along with five other siblings. He moved to Roanoke to work with an uncle in a Tree Removal business. Roy loved to climb those trees and he was very good at that job. Roy also loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed the outdoors as much as he could until health issues prevented him from doing so. Later, he returned to his home town to live out the remaining days of his life. Our hearts are broken, but we know that, he is in a better place and the pain and suffering is over. Fly high with the angel’s dad and brother. We love and will miss you forever………Always in our hearts..

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ray Boatright, Sr. and Lillian Pauline Boatright; and Brother, Donald Ray Boatright, Jr.

Roy is survived by his loving companion Linda Carter who he loved very much; Daughter, Stacy Boatright; Sons, Robert Boatright and Preston and wife Melinda Boatright; Sisters, Joyce McMillan and husband Darren, and Wanda Wright; Brothers, Steve Boatrightand Ronald Boatright and wife Pam: several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be private, but the family would like to Thank, everyone that has taken the time to say a prayer for Roy and the family during this heart breaking time.

PSALM 34:18 : “ The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
