But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Rosella (Rose) Diane Maloney, 63, went home to the lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Rose was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, hummingbirds and taking pictures of everyone and everything around her. She found beauty in nature and her family alike.  Rose was the greatest cook, and her recipes will be treasured by her daughter and her son. She was a homemaker for 47 years who tended to everyone's needs before her own. She created a warm and loving home full of laughter and memories. She had no greater joy in life than her children and grandchildren. She loved her family so fiercely. She was a devoted Christian and loved the Lord. The only solace her family can find is knowing that her body is healed. She fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents, Jennings and Italy Vanover.

Rose is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, George David Maloney, whom she dedicated the last 3 years of her life to take care of; daughter, Wendy Deel (Randy); son, Josh Maloney (Courtney); grandsons, Tanner Deel (Kylie), Andrew Deel, and Noah Maloney; granddaughter, Grace Maloney; great-grandson, Tyler Deel; great-granddaughter, Tanleigh Deel; sister, Sharon Skidmore; brother, Jent Vanover (Mary); nieces and nephews, Eddie Clay, Diane, Christa, Brandon, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Rose Maloney will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Jan Vanover officiating. Burial will follow in the Wise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till time of services at 2:00 P.M.
