POUND, VA.                                        APRIL 29, 2022

Rose Marie (Sue) Cantrell, 78, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Norton Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.

She retired from J.W. Adams Combined School.

Sue enjoyed working in the garden, listening to music, especially blue grass, cooking, spending time with her family and she also loved to shop.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Cantrell; her parents, Ralph and Ruble Elkins; a brother, Jimmy Elkins; nephew, Tim Elkins; brothers-in-law, TJ Powers, Jerry Hobbs and Hurley Collins.

Surviving are brothers, Donnie Elkins and wife Barbara of Pound and Freddy Elkins and wife Mona of Wise; sisters, Janice Collins of Pound, Linda Gregory and husband Ben of Nicholsville, KY, Joyce Powers of Cardington, OH and Helen Hobbs of Pound; sister-in-law, Clara Elkins of East Stone Gap; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Sue Cantrell will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 2, 2022 at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel Wise, Va with Rev. Mike Strouth officiating. Burial will follow in the Elkins-Dotson Cemetery on Bold Camp in Pound, VA.  Family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 noon till time of services at 1:00 P.M. Monday at the Sturgill Funeral Home Wise, VA.
