Ronny Clayton Prater, 71, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

Ronny attended church at Hopkins Chapel on Guest River.  He was a 1968 graduate of J.J. Kelly High School and attended Clinch Valley College.  Ronny was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Thailand in support of the U.S. Forces in the Vietnam War.

Ronny was preceded in death by his father, Richard Clayton (Dickie) Prater; his mother, Margaret (Moom) Prater; and a nephew, Travis Sturgill.

Ronny is survived by his fiancé, Nancy Osborne; her son, Scott Vance; sister, Patty (Randy) Sturgill;  special nephew, Toby (Tammy) Sturgill; great-nephew, Nick (Jessica) Sturgill, great-nieces, Morganne (Hunter) Helbert, Eden Sturgill, Emily Sturgill, Abi Sturgill, and Izzy Sturgill; great-great-nephews, Jackson Sturgill and Grayson Sturgill; great-great-niece, Maci Helbert; and very special friends, William J. and Gaye Sturgill; and Jeff and Kathy Sturgill.
