Rodney Ray Maine, 71, took his last breath on October 25, 2025, surrounded by family. He is now walking in a new body without pain. Rod was an avid hunter, and fisherman and he loved his grandkids and his family and buddies.

Rod was preceded in death by his mother, Goldie Maine, sister, Carol Rose, brother, Howard Maine and niece, Lisa Patton.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years, Tammy Maine; his daughter, Crystal Farmer; two granddaughters, Amy Grace Farmer, and Cassidy Brooke Farmer; brothers, Danny (Jearline) Maine; Donnie (Rita) Maine; sister, Patty (Ernie) Fields; sister-in-law, Becki Maine; brother-in-law, Ronnie Rose; special nieces and nephews, Christy Owens, Joy Marshall, Rhonda Rose, Lisa Woodruff, Derek Fields, Daniel Maine, Hunter Maine, Matthew Maine, Zander Owens, Jamie Maine; mother-in-law, Betty Lauterbach.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, 2025, 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, Va. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home chapel with Charles Jibber Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Acres Cemetery Coeburn, Va. Pallbearers will be Daniel Maine, Ben Maine, Drew Maine, Zack Owens, Zander Owens, Roger Noonchester. Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas Forney, Tommy Noonchester, Frank Massey, Butch Plaster, Chub Plaster, Paul Dotson, Mike Buchanan, Paul Buchanan.
