Robert Edward "Blue" Holcomb, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at the Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia.

Born in Wyoming County, West Virginia, Blue was the son of Rev. Frank Holcomb and Mary Hicks Holcomb, who preceded him in death, along with his brother, Charles Monroe Baker; and mother-in-law, Shirley Dobbs Mosier.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Mosier Holcomb; children, Frankie Holcomb, Linda Wakely, and Sarah Holcomb; two beloved grandsons, John Robert Wakely and Robert Ian Holcomb; sisters, Mary Frances Begley and Patricia Donovan; several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A proud veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy, Virginia National Guard, and U.S. Army. Blue will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, sense of humor, countless stories of his past and the strong love for his family.

Funeral services for Robert "Blue" Holcomb will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Tony Nunley and Pastor David Nidiffer officiating. Graveside committal services and burial with Military Rites will follow in the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA. Family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
