NORTON, VA.                                          MAY 8, 2024

Ricky Hunsucker, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky.

He was a member of Hopkins Chapel Church, a retired employee of Red Onion State Prison, and was an avid deer hunter and gardener.

Ricky loved joking, pulling pranks on his friends and he was a true character. He enjoyed making and giving walking sticks to his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Joyce Gardner Hunsucker.

Surviving are his loving wife for over 44 years, Marlene; his son, Daniel Hunsucker; special companion, Gatsby; his sister, Carolyn Hunsucker; special brother, Riley Phillips; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ricky Hunsucker will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Mike Hunsucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Wampler Family Cemetery in Norton, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
