Raymond Ernest Mefford, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the Heritage Hall Health Care in Wise, VA.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Christine; parents, Herman and Eva Mae Davis Mefford and two brothers, Elmer and Jimmy.

Left to carry on his memory are a daughter, Karen Collins and husband Alan; son, Wayne Mefford and wife Cheryl; granddaughter, Jessica; son, Tony Mefford and wife Carmella; grandson, Richard; granddaughter, Megan; sister, Rita Jones; nephew, Rick Jones and wife Carys and family, Jordan and Keegan; nephew, James Robinette and family, Marlee, Bentley and Zeke; a special niece, Crystal Robinette and husband Brian and two special ladies he loved so much, Kristen and Kinzleigh and a host of other relatives and friends.

With love and thanks to all the staff of Heritage Hall in Wise, VA who loved and cared for him for the past ten years. The Heritage Hall employees were his second family that he loved dearly.

Funeral services for Raymond Mefford will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Evangelist Donald Harding Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery Norton, VA.  The family will receive friends from 12 noon till time of services at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
