Raymond Wesley Meade, 81, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, in the Holston Valley Medical Center Kingsport, TN. He was a coal miner for Clinchfield Coal Company for 37 ½ years.

Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Terrie Lynn Meade; his father John Henry Meade, his mother, Orpha Nanny Carico Meade, his brothers, Leslie Ira Meade, Virgil Meade, his sisters, Hazel Pearly Meade Marshall and Trula Gertrude Meade Large.

Surviving is his loving wife, Lynn Charlene (Sue) Teasley Meade; two daughters, Melinda (Ronnie Gouge), and Vickie (David Slemp), three sons, Randall (Karen) Meade, Jeff (Rena) Meade, and Mark (Marie) Meade; two brothers, Shelton (Marsha) Meade, and Lewie (Regina) Meade, and a sister, Opal Meade Hall; 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday June 11, 2021, 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6 ^th Street NW Coeburn, VA. Funeral Service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lewie Meade and Rev. Shelton Meade officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted 11 A.M. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Temple Hill Memorial Park Castlewood, VA. The family and friends will meet at 10 A.M. Saturday to line up at the funeral home and go to cemetery in procession.
