Paul Kennedy passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at his home. Paul was a member of the Coeburn Methodist Church,  Masonic Lodge, UMWA and a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted & Minnie Kennedy, a brother, Kester Kennedy Sr. (Verda), sister, Rita Salyer (Darrell).

Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Jean Jordan Kennedy; several nieces and nephews; and a special aunt, Marie Porter.

Family will receive friends Saturday, May 30, 2026,12 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, Va. Funeral Service will follow at 2 P.M. in the chapel with Pastor Shane Wallace officiating. Music provided by Rev. Ben Harding and Robin Pennington.  Entombment will follow in the Temple Hill Memorial Park Castlewood, Va. Pallbearers will be Marty Kennedy, Kester Kennedy Jr., Randy Porter, Joseph Porter, Ryan Porter, Braydon Porter. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Porter, Jamie De Moss, Barry Bloomer, Maynard Harris, Rudy Holbrook, Maynard Spell, Rick Matheison. Special thanks to our friends and church family for your visits, food, hugs, and prayers.
