Patrick Wayne Dean, 55, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA.

Patrick worked as a coal truck driver and then as an over the road truck driver for many years. He was a dedicated worker and one of the best truck drivers his company had. He was an avid NASCAR fan with Kyle Busch being his favorite driver and he attended every race he could. Patrick enjoyed working on anything that had a motor and he had done this ever since he was a small child and always enjoyed fixing things.

He was preceded in death by his father, Teddy Wayne Dean.

Surviving are his mother, Patricia Dean of Wise, VA; two brothers, Preston Dean of Duffield, VA and Chris Dean of Wise, VA; sister, Jennifer Sproles and husband Michael of Bristol, TN; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Patrick Dean will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 23, 2024 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor John McCarroll officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery Norton, VA
