Pamela Maddix McIntyre, 80, was the cherished only daughter of parents Kenneth Earl and Inez Marie "Sis" Maddix who preceded her in death, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at her home.

Strong in body, faith and will, Pam battled for over a decade with a long-term Illness, before finally succumbing and finding her place with God.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, James Frederick McIntyre and their two daughters – all of Wise, VA; Kathleen McIntyre and Juliana Marie McIntyre (Brad Baugh); as well as three grandchildren, Wesley Baugh, Moody Baugh and Angus Greene.

A graduate of Morehead State University in Kentucky, she spent most of her professional life as the librarian of Pound High School in Wise County VA.

Her spiritual life was also spent in the service of others: joining in Glamorgan Chapel women's group activities, preparing food for events, lending a listening ear to strangers and friends, and encouraging others to seek Christ.

A lifelong gardener and book lover, she shared the joy she found in these past-times as easily as smiles and hugs.

Funeral services for Pamela McIntyre will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Greg Sergent and Rev. Jeff Sams officiating. Burial will follow in the Dickenson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till time of services at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
