DUFFIELD, VA.                                 DECEMBER 5, 2022

Oscar Lee Vanover "Pocky", 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at his home.

He was of the Pentecostal Faith, a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a retired coal miner.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lou Miller; three grandsons; his parents, Oscar and Violet Vanover; three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Sandra Lawson Vanover "Nanny"; son, Jeffrey and Jennifer; three grandchildren, Latasia Counts and husband Roman, Timothy Miller and Derick Rowe and wife Terry; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Sammy Vanover and wife Nancy and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Oscar Lee Vanover will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, Va with Pastor Daniel Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins-Gilliam Cemetery Wise, VA. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. till time of services at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
