POUND, VA.                                    AUGUST 30, 2023

Odell K. Lane, 98, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Norton Community Hospital.

He was a member of Hubbard Chapel Church and a retired coal miner.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Lane; daughter, Karen Lane; parents, Fred and Ora Stapleton Lane; brother, Hoover Lane; sisters, Zola Lane, Zelda Lane and Evalea Hubbard.

Surviving are his son, Kendall Lane and wife Rosa; grandchildren, James "Pete" Grant, Kristina Valerius, Melissa Barber and Nathaniel Lane; four great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Odell Lane will be conducted at 2:00 P.M on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Rev. Billy Hibbitts and Rev. Tom Slemp officiating. Burial will follow in Wise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday at Sturgill Funeral Home Wise, VA.
