Nicole Tankersley Collier, 39, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Emily and Roy Tankersley Jr. and Ransom and Bertha Jessee, and Garland Burchell.

Nicole is survived by her husband, Nathan; daughters, Kailee Adkins and Halle Collier, from Wise; mother and stepfather, Mechelle and Ray Carter Jr. of Wise; father and stepmother, Randall and Lori Tankersley; sister, McKenna Tankersley; brother, Josh Burchell of Big Stone Gap; sister, Allison Stough of Norton; sister, Ashley Hayes and husband Shawn of Wise; in-laws, Shawna and Louis Collier, Jr of Parrish, FL, Sandy Ward and Dave Perrine of Cowen, WV; brother-in-law, Chase Collier and fiancée Breanna Matchett, of Charleston, WV; sister-in-law, Mekenzie Griffis and husband Casey of Sarasota, Florida; grandparents, Rose and Eugene Carter Sr. of Wise; grandmother, Ann Burchell of Big Stone Gap; cousin, Pam Parsons of Harriman, TN; Uncle, Denny Tankersley of Appalachia; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She loved her family, especially her daughters, and was completely devoted to them all.

Funeral services for Nicole will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Tony Nunley officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA to go to the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap, VA for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to "The Doorways", a non-profit housing option for family members of patients at Virginia Commonwealth University's Critical Care Hospital.
