Michael Lee Connell, 58 passed away on Monday. October 12, 2026 at the University of Kentucky. He was a native of Wise County and known for his gentle, kind and quiet nature. He was a devoted Steelers fan and cherished his time with friends, family and his hobbies until a challenging health struggle took him away.

He is survived by his daughter, Ally Christine Connell (Partner Ryan Tate) of King George, VA; his mom, Elizabeth Ann (Powers) Connell (spouse Willie Connell-deceased) of Wise, VA; his twin sister, Michelle Leigh (Connell) Mullins (Spouse Ronnie Mullins) of Homer, GA; sister, Valerie (Connell) Dowdy (spouse James Dowdy) of Monroe, VA; Nieces & Nephews, TJ Lewis of (Homer GA), Ashley Dowdy of Charleston, SC (spouse Amy Adams), Shaun Dowdy (Monroe, VA) (spouse Jessica Dowdy & great niece, Rylah), Cassandra Dowdy of Columbia, SC; cousin, Michael Powers of Sandy Hook, KY

His family is honoring his memory with a private ceremony to respect his privacy.
