Michael Lee Carter Sr., 64, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN surrounded by his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Festus and Elma Carter; brothers, Darrell Carter and Larry "Red" Carter.

He is survived by his children, Micky Carter Sr. (Jessica) of Castlewood, VA, Michael (Keila) Carter Jr. of Johnson City, TN, Rachelle Carter of Big Stone Gap, VA and Michelle Carter; grandchildren, Richard (Lakin) Carter, Jamie Carter, Zachary Carter, Micky Carter Jr., Logan Carter, Skylar Carter, Bailee Carter, Brianna Ratliff and Katlin Morgan; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Xavier and Annistyn Carter, Keenen Bandy, Shealey, Bryghton, Wrenzemay, Khaizton and La'Venna Ratliff, Isabelle and Delilah Hall; special nephew and niece who helped take care of him, Douglas and Jodi Hall; sisters, Judy Beverly (Larry) and Wilma Carter; brothers, Glen (Linda) Carter and Victor Carter; several other nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and family.

It was Mike's wishes to be cremated and then be buried with his mom and dad. Celebration of life service will be at a later date.
