Mary 'Lucy' Sturgill, 69, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022.

Lucy was born to the late Kermit and Geraldine Cantrell of Wise. She was raised with her six brothers who she loved very much, the late Mitchell Cantrell, the late Larry Cantrell, the late James Cantrell, the late Jerry Cantrell, Arthur Cantrell and Bruce Cantrell.

She attended J.J. Kelly high school and studied Journalism at Clinch Valley College in Wise Va. she spent many years working as a pharmacy technician in both Virginia and North Carolina. Nothing brought her more joy than keeping in touch with her children and her granddaughter and knowing they were happy and safe.

Lucy had a big heart and didn't know a stranger. She was a wild child who grew up in the 60s. She loved music and taught her kids to appreciate music just as much. She was a friend to so many and will be missed by all of those left behind.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Brandi Hughes; granddaughter, Sophia Dubon of North Carolina; sons, Zachary Hughes and wife Tiffany of Florida, Christopher Sturgill and wife Mikaela of New York; her husband, Chris Sturgill and son Dalton and a host of other relatives and friends.

At Lucy's request at this time there will be no formal services.
