PENNINGTON GAP, VA                         AUGUST 29, 2025

Mary Stewart, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at her residence.

She was of the Chrisitan Faith and a retired employee from General Motors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "John" Stewart; infant son, Jimmy; sons, Kenneth Diets, Richard Diets, and Wayne Diets; a daughter, Norma Kilgore; her parents; and siblings.

Surviving are a son, Roger Diets and wife Stella; step-children, Terri Cardon, Rebecca Waddell, Billy Cardon and wife Margaret, and David Stewart and wife Lesa; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Homer Sexton and wife Mary Lou; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A special Thank You to her nurses, Angel Moore, Molly Morgan, and Clara Rose.

Funeral services for Mary Stewart will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 1, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Pastor Darrell Bolling officiating. Burial will follow in the Beverly Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 1, 2025 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA.
