Obituary

CLINTWOOD, VA.                          OCTOBER 5, 2024

Mary Pallas Mullins, 92, entered into the presence of her Savior on October 3, 2024. The fourth of ten children, Pallas was the daughter of Joseph Delbert and Edna Swindall. She was a woman unlike any other—independent, determined, slightly mischievous, and young at heart throughout her years.

Pallas was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. Throughout her life, she was a member of many churches and served faithfully in the Awana program. Never one to seek attention, she could often be found serving others behind the scenes. She was incredibly generous, always giving her time, energy, and resources to bless others.

She was married to the late Charles P. Mullins, with whom she shared many cherished years. Pallas was a devoted mother to three children: Patty Newberry (Jeff), Charles David Mullins (Nancy), and the late Jeffrey Mullins. Her family was the joy of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

To her grandchildren, she was much more than just a grandmother—she was their favorite cook, their best secret keeper, their favorite summer hangout, and their most staunch defender. Pallas was blessed with 6 grandchildren: Josh (Rosemary) Newberry, Hollie Newberry, Rachel (Eric) Klinger, Dustin (Cristina) Mullins, Jordan Mullins, and David (Samantha) Mullins. She also had 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Also surviving are her siblings, Matilda Killen, Charles Swindall, Betty Bryant and Roy Swindall.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Mullins, and her beloved son, Jeffrey Mullins. Her legacy will live on through her family and the many lives she impacted in her lifetime.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many sitters who helped care for her in the last few years; her beloved sister, Til; The Davis Girls, Ellen, Keeta, Colleen, Brittany, Jackie and Cheyanne; also Louise, Brenda, Rena, Linda, JoAnn, Carol, Cathy, Drema, Tina and Audrey.

At her request there will be no services.
