Marie Porter is singing in the heavenly choir.  Marie passed away peacefully at her home with her family on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the age of 95.

Marie was a Christian lady and a faithful servant of her Lord and a member of the Grace Quartet.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Porter, her parents, Bill and Grace McCray, sisters Alice McCray, Virginia Jordan (Dill), Unice Colston (Ben), grandson Justin Porter, and nephew Doug Colston.

Marie leaves a loving family, her sons Randy (Gina) and David, grandsons Joseph Porter (Sherry), Ryan Porter, great-granddaughter Brooklyn Porter, and great-grandson Braydon Porter.

Family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Sturgill Funeral Home 310 6th Street NW Coeburn, Virginia.  Services will follow at 2 P.M. in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Shane Wallace and Shannon Blevins officiating.  Music will be provided by Robin Pennington and Debbie Wells.  Burial will follow in the Greenwood Memorial Gardens Coeburn, Virginia.
