Our beloved Mother, Lucy Marie Hale, 96, journeyed to her heavenly home on January 3, 2025. She took her last breath on earth at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, VA at 2:20AM Friday morning. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ira "Buddy" Hale, her father, Walter Lundy, her mother, Mable Lundy, and her sister, Cynthia Ellen Powers.

Surviving family members include four sons: Danny (Bea) Hale, of Soddy Daisy, TN; Randy (Betty) Hale, of Knoxville, Tn; Ronnie (Lisa) Hale, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Tony Hale, of Piney Flats, TN. Two daughters: Rita (Randy) Longworth, of Wise, VA and Angela (Mark) Roberts, of Coeburn, VA. Lucy had 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She also had four precious care-giving angels that saw to her every need for the past two years: Lisa Brown, of Dante, VA, Sheila Evans, of Coeburn, VA, Judy Hamilton, of Coeburn, VA; and Melissa Hill, of Coeburn, VA.

Lucy was born in Jenkins, KY and lived in Coeburn, VA until her passing. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, making quilts, and gardening. She was a woman of great faith and was a strong and dedicated Christian. Most importantly, Lucy enjoyed and treasured a close personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Lucy fervently loved each member of her family and was forever concerned about their well-being. The one thing Lucy would want to tell others she learned during her life would be "we should love one another as Christ loves us".
