WISE, VA. DECEMBER 26, 2015

Loretta "Jo" Jackson Bolling, 89, was taken into the arms of her Lord on Thursday, Christmas Eve, after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Jo had walked into the annual family Christmas celebration, smiling, greeting her children, many grandchildren and kissing great-grandchildren that ran to her. She sat down on the couch and quietly and peacefully succumbed to a massive heart attack. She had accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and was baptized in 1960. She attended the First Church of God in Wise faithfully before her sickness. Most of her life was spent in Pound, Virginia. She was born in Elkhorn City, Kentucky, to W.F. and Bithy Powers Jackson. Her parents and the love of her life and husband of 56 years, C.W. "Jack" Bolling, preceded Mrs. Bolling in death.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Guy (Imel), James Lester (Lynne), F.M. "Fletch" (Margaret), and W.F., Jr "Little Bill"; sister, Nell (Alfred) Fleming, and son-in-law, Jerry L. Mullins.

Mrs. Bolling is survived by sister, Carol (Al) Neuenhoff of Caldwell, Texas, brother, Tom (Norma) Jackson of Thomaston, Georgia, and sister-in-law, Kathleen J. Penland of Pound, Virginia. Her three daughters, Sharon Kerr of Bristol, Virginia; Paula Mullins of Gate City, Virginia and Jessica (Paul) Ison of Wise, Virginia. Eight grandchildren, Tara (Bill) Bevins, Marnie (Bryan) Head, Jordan (Amanda) Mullins, Jarrod (Kimberly) Ison, Whitney Kerr, Ragan (Amber) Mullins, Meredith Kerr and Garrett "Bo" (Sarah) Ison. Sixteen great-grandchildren, Maggie and Ella Bevins; Blake, Emmerson, Griffin, Grey, Piper and Jo Head; Luke, Ian and Lakyn Mullins; Cameron Ison; Ryland and Kooper Mullins; and Brooke and Sophia Ison, plus many nieces and nephews; caregiver Patsy Page, "Fourth Daughter" Darlene Bowman and sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Flaudean Bolling and a host of friends and relatives.

Mrs. Bolling graduated from Clintwood High School (because Christopher Gist High School in Pound had burned down before her senior year) and attended Clinch Valley College. She was a partner in all business endeavors she and her husband had started.
She had a beautiful voice and sang solos in church and for weddings and funerals. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and at many community and political functions. She and her husband were staunch conservative Republicans and were always active with their cause in the "Fighting Ninth" District of Virginia, where they worked together when he was the Wise County Registrar in the 70's. They attended political conventions and inaugural balls but were most active in standing up for the Biblical mandates in scripture. Pallbearers are, Bill Bevins, Bryan Head, Jordan Mullins, Jarrod Ison, Reagan Mullins and Garrett Ison. With her passing is a void in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, brother, and all those who loved her and were touched by her life of giving.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 28, 2015 at the First Church of God 702 East Main Street Wise, Virginia 12 noon to 1 P.M. Funeral Services will follow at 1 P.M. in the church with Pastor Ben Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Bolling Family Cemetery Pound, Virginia.
