NORTON, VA                                                      JULY 7, 2025

Lorene Brooks, 90, of Norton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 4, 2025 with family by her side.

As a young woman, Lorene was a telephone operator in Bristol, VA. Later in life, she retired from JC Penny of Sandusky as the head seamstress. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a devoted Christian and Sunday School teacher for 50 years. She was a beacon of love and grace, shaping lives through her kindness, prayers, and unwavering faith. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Lorene was preceded in death by her father, Fred Evans; mother, Viola Hensley Evans of Sandy Ridge; her husband of 53 years, Bobby M. Brooks; her daughters Barbara Marshall and Angela Shepherd; grandson, Bryon Pfirsch; and her siblings, Caephus, Kenneth, and Arlie Evans and Helen Hummel.

Surviving are her sons, Jeff Brooks of Norton, VA and Arlie Brooks and wife Tammy of Monroeville, OH; brother, Harold Evans and wife Shelby of Coeburn, VA; sister, Teresa Evans of Coeburn, VA; a host of her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive family and friends on Friday, July 11, 2025 at New Life Church in Sandusky, OH.
