Lillie May Winkle Mickles, 75, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Norton Community Hospital Norton, Va.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Ray Mickles; a grandson, Joshua David Mickles; and her parents.

Surviving is her daughter, Opal Hammonds and her husband, Kenny; her son, Daniel Joshua Mickles and Kellie Moore; a brother, Jeff Winkle; a sister, Leona Owens; five grandchildren, Abigail, Edyn, Lukas, Christopher, and Heather; two great-grandchildren, Bryton and Lillie; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services for Lillie Mickles will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in the Wise Cemetery in Wise, VA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, Va. After visitation we will proceed to the cemetery for graveside services.
