WISE, VA. May 12, 2023

Leland Maggard, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

He attended Lighthouse Family Worship Center in Wise and was a former coal miner. He loved music and playing the drums.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Sturgill Maggard; daughter, Christa Maggard; infant grandson, Micah Maggard and his parents, Bruce and Georgene Addington Maggard.

Surviving are a son, Nathaniel Maggard and wife Andrea of Wise; grandson, Noah Maggard of Wise; special friend and companion, Wilma Bledsoe; 3 brothers, Danny Maggard and wife Judy of Pound, George Maggard and wife Carolyn of Nickelsville, VA and Michael Maggard of Whitesburg, KY; 2 sisters, Angela Hunsucker of Whitesburg and Kelly Mullins and husband Kevin of Pound, VA; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Leland Maggard will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Lighthouse Family Worship Center 145 Lake St NW in Wise, VA with Pastor Roger Barker officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon till time of services at 2:00 P.M. at the church. Graveside services and burial will be private in the Adams Cemetery, Eolia, KY.
