Larry Douglas Porter, 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 21, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. His greatest joy was his grandchildren. He loved to spoil all of them with gifts and yummy treats. He was a hard worker that always provided for his loved ones. He was a loyal and proud employee of Humphreys Enterprises for 30 years. He was also a devoted member of his church and served the Lord in many different capacities.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Lindy Porter and Geneva Porter-Hess and his daughter, Lisa Gale Porter.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pam Porter (Bevins); son, Mark Porter (Jacqueline); daughter, April Porter-Martinelli (David); grandson, Everett Porter; granddaughters, Paisley Porter, Olivia Martinelli, Nicole Martinelli and Julia Martinelli; great-grandson, Deluca Martinelli; brothers, Freddy Porter and Brian Porter (Lois); sister, Jorjia Cable (Tony); many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Larry Porter will be held from 2:00 P.M. till 4:00 on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise, VA. Graveside services will follow in the Round Top Cemetery in the Duncan Gap section of Wise, VA with Rev. Billy Hibbitts officiating. Burial will follow.
