Larry Wayne Kelley, 72, in the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 25, 2022, was called home for his eternal rest after a long bout with various illnesses.

Larry was born in Norton, VA and was a 1972 graduate from Pound High School. He worked several years in the coal mining industry. After a brief time working as a security guard, he went on to touch countless lives delivering the mail and driving a school bus for Wise County Schools. Larry was a member of Old Regular Baptist Sweet Home Church. He enjoyed farming and tending to his cattle.

Larry was preceded in death by his son, Jason Kelley; his parents, Wayne and Flossie Mullins Kelley; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Surviving are his loving wife, Mary Ellen Kelley; son, Jonah Kelley and wife Christy; daughter-in-law, Dana Kelley; grandson, Lucas Kelley; 6 brothers, Chalmer (Betty), Johnny (Shirley), C. H. (Peggy) Gordon, Leon (Kathy), Ricky (Theresa), Harmon Mullins Jr.; 3 sisters; Scarlett Evans, Virginia Kelley, Mary Rose Masters; special friends, Bobby Bates, Libby Taylor and Steven Vanover; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Larry Kelley will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Wise, VA with Elder Eddie Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayne Kelly Cemetery in Pound, VA. The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. till services at 12:30 P.M. on Friday at the Sturgill Funeral Home, Wise, VA.
