Kenneth L. Stallard, 78, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Norton Community Hospital.

Ken was born and raised in Wise County, a graduate of J.J. Kelly High School, an outstanding football player and top student in the automotive program of the vocational school.

Ken moved to Washington DC at the age of 18 and spent 12 years with Phillips Petroleum Company becoming an Area Sales Supervisor, moving up and down the east coast and mid-Atlantic regions before returning to Wise in 1974 to start JK&G Coal Company with his brothers. Ken's hobbies included collecting and working on cars, flying his Cessna airplane and watching NASCAR races.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.D. Stallard Jr. and Monica Ann Mays Stallard; and brothers, Joe Ed Stallard and Jack L. Stallard.

He is survived by his three children, Susan Stallard of Annapolis MD, Sharon Shouse of Lake Frederick VA, and Scott Stallard of Gaithersburg MD; three grandchildren; his sister, Charlotte Cox of Baltimore MD; brother, Gary Stallard of Wise; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside committal services and burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the Stallard Family Cemetery in Wise, VA. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. Saturday to go to the cemetery in procession. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association - P.O.
