Kenneth Ray Kilgore, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Kenneth was a retired Coal Miner. He loved fishing, lake time with his buddies and all the boat dock talk. He was an avid gardener, he could grow a rock if he planted one. His infectious smile would light any room he entered, he could make friends in the dark. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Norma Jean Kilgore and his parents, Willard and Mable Kilgore.

Surviving are his loving son, Daniel and wife Jennifer; sisters, Darlene and husband Dennis, Loretta and husband George and Kathy Kilgore; mother in law, Mary Stewart; niece, Marcee Asbury; nephew, Blake Asbury (Pria); grandchildren, Austin (Madison), Britney (Jacob), Brittany (Nathan), Cierra (Matt) and Emilee; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Brynlee, Sawyer, Jaxen, Hudson, Riley and Ellyana; his very best friend of 70 years, Glenn Kilgore, our family is so thankful for all you've done and the love you gave.

Funeral services for Kenneth Kilgore will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, VA with Elder Stacy Potter and Pastor Mike Hunsucker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till time of services at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise. Graveside committal services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2023 in the Addington-Hensley Cemetery. Burial will follow. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home to go to the cemetery in procession.
