Katrina Rasnick, 69, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025. Born in Lorain, Ohio, she later made her home in Pound, Virginia, where she dedicated her life to caring for those she loved.

Katrina was the beloved daughter of Benetta Joan Baker Mullins and Dorse Walker Mullins. She was the devoted wife of George Rasnick and a loving mother to Stephanie Sturgill, Dustin Meade and his wife Katie Meade. She was also a cherished grandmother to Julien Sturgill and his fiancée Sierra Miller, Grayson Meade and Mckaylee Meade.

A selfless and compassionate soul, Katrina always put others before herself. She retired 25 years ago to care for her grandson, a testament to the love and devotion she had for her family. Before retirement, she worked as a manager in retail, where she built lasting relationships with colleagues and customers, always leading with kindness.

Outside of work, Katrina had two great passions—animals and gardening. She adored birds, cats, dogs, and all creatures, always ensuring they were loved and cared for. She also found peace and joy in flower gardening, tending to her beautiful blooms with the same love and patience she showed to everyone in her life. Her garden was a reflection of her soul—vibrant, nurturing, and full of life.

More than anything, Katrina dedicated her life to ensuring the happiness and well-being of those around her, always looking out for everyone she met. Her unwavering love and generosity left an imprint on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and that her kindness will live on in those she touched.
