COEBURN, VA.                                    JANUARY 6, 2024

Kathaleen Hutchinson, 64, closed her eyes on earth and opened them in Glory on Friday, January 5th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family after a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. She won the war that ravaged her body and is now rejoicing in her eternal home with her Savior. She is made new.

She was a member of The Herald Church of God of Prophesy in Coeburn, VA and was a former paraprofessional at Coeburn Middle School. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother, friend to all who met her, but most of all the best Mimi to her 9 grandchildren!

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Jim and Maryann Heafner; brother, Michael Heafner; nephews, Scooter Heafner and Brendan Arnn and a niece, Kitty Frock.

Surviving are her loving husband of 46 years, Everett Hutchinson; children, Tiffany Gibson and husband Tony, Amanda Blevins and husband Jason and Lucas Hutchinson and wife Rachel; grandchildren, Kiarra Jones and husband Erik, Jesse Gibson, Chelsea Gibson, Ben Blevins, Madelyn Gibson, Maggie Blevins, Adajane Gibson, Harper Hutchinson and Kayden Hutchinson; brother, Jim Heafner and wife Cheryl; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Kathy will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, January 7th, 2024 at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Coeburn VA with Pastor Robert Ledford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Acres Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. till time of services at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to The Cancer Center at Johnston Memorial 26079 Lee Hwy Abingdon, Va 24211 C/O Patient Fund.
